The terms of your membership at the Institute for Advanced Study
are described in your invitation letter. Those terms, as you know, do not
constrain the open-ended nature of your research, which is essential to
the mission of the Institute. While absences from the IAS campus during
the academic term related to scientific meetings or academic
collaborations are consistent with Institute membership, you are expected
to discuss in advance with the appropriate administrative officer of the
school any significant absences as described in your invitation letter.
The Institute has awarded your membership with the understanding that you
have not received an additional grant or fellowship during your stay at
the Institute. If you become the recipient of another grant at any point
during the term of your membership, it is important to notify the
appropriate school administrative officer so that the terms and funding
of your membership can be amended, if necessary.
